Welcome to a small barrow in the intellectual marketplace.

This blog is written by a historian, but is not all about history. It’s written from a political and cultural viewpoint, but is not a polemic. If it has any function at all, it is foremost a release valve for things best not said in a seminar room or professional journal, as well as a place to record reactions as they happen. There is no target audience, in fact I suspect there is no audience at all, which may be just fine.
